About the Role
We are seeking a world-class Staff+ Engineer to lead our backend and blockchain protocol development efforts. As our first technical hire alongside the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing the core systems that power Euphoria's prediction market platform. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of a cutting-edge fintech startup and make a significant impact in the world of decentralized finance.

What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable backend systems to support our prediction market platform
- Develop and optimize smart contracts and our underlying blockchain protocol
- Lead the technical architecture decisions for both off-chain and on-chain components
- Collaborate closely with the CTO to define and execute the technical roadmap
- Mentor and guide future engineering hires, fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Ensure system reliability, security, and performance across all our technical infrastructure
- Contribute to the overall product strategy, providing technical insights on feature feasibility and implementation
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on blockchain & backend development
- Experience with financial systems or trading platforms
- Proven expertise in protocol and smart contract development
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, Python)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challenges
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-Have
- Background in quantitative finance or prediction markets
- Experience with database design and optimization
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture design
